Xi "Jake" Wang is a Los Angeles-based Digital media artist. He recently served as a visual designer at Refik Anadol Studio and is an active member of Visual Effects Society (VES) and Association for Computing Machinery(ACM). Born in China in 1983.He obtained his Bachelor's degree from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2007 and completed his Master's degree in animation and digital art from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2020. His primary focus is on immersive design and generative AI art. Wang's media artworks skillfully construct concrete and surreal world scenes through non-human protagonists, blending time and space. These works reflect his sensitive contemplation on culture and the exploration of the era.Wang has contributed to numerous high-profile art projects. He exhibited his latest work, the immersive animation short film Illusory Land, at Siggraph Asia 2022. He also directed the real-time animation short Metamorphosis, which won the Director's Choice Award at the Thomas Edison Black Maria Film Festival. Additionally, it was an official selection at the Telluride Film Festival Student Prints and the Unreal Engine Student Showcase Spring 2021.Wang's exceptional animation works have been featured in prestigious exhibitions at venues such as the Getty Museum and various other art galleries. He has also been involved in significant studio projects, including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dune Part 2, the TV series The Last of Us, and numerous music videos, album designs, and animated documentaries.
