Xi "Jake" Wang is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker, production leader, and AI artist, as well as a member of the Visual Effects Society (VES). Working across film, animation, visual effects, and immersive media, he focuses on cinematic storytelling and world-building through a fusion of traditional filmmaking and emerging AI-driven workflows.
In 2026, Wang joined Amazon MGM Studios as a VFX GenAI Specialist, exploring new approaches to AI-assisted visual development and filmmaking pipelines. He previously served as Head of Production at Utopai Studios, leading multidisciplinary teams creating generative AI-driven content for feature films, television, animation, and music videos. He is also a Dreamina Signature Partner, collaborating on emerging AI-driven creative workflows and visual experimentation.
Before moving into AI-native production, Wang worked at leading visual effects studios including Digital Domain, contributing to productions such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dune: Part Two, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Last of Us, and The Electric State.
Alongside his studio work, Wang develops independent films and immersive projects spanning VR, AR, projection mapping, and experimental animation. His work has been presented at SIGGRAPH and showcased at international festivals including the Telluride Film Festival, LA Shorts International Film Festival, Odense International Film Festival, and Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia.
